Bleeding Nora

I discovered tonight something that makes giving blood seem fine and fun. Not being allowed to give blood, after arranging things so that I could get up there, due to a low haemoglobin count.

I even feel pretty good at the moment, so no idea what that's all about. Apparently they may write and tell me. Fab.

(For what it's worth, Nora is a diminutive of Eleanor... So quite appropriate really!)

I'm often not allowed to donate, being JUST the slightest bit anemic, most of the month. You kind of have to time it, if you know what I mean. They do like a higher hemoglobin level than some people normally have.... at least, if your people there are like our people here. Otherwise, eat your beets and try again!

Hmmm... I think bad monthly timing may indeed be a factor.

I'm also going to try eating some beets though (once I clarified they are what I call beetroot). We got some in our vegbox this week - it's obviously a sign!
