Folding fun
I've got one of those days where I'm a bit all over the place today. It's one of my uni days, but because I only have lectures in the afternoon I have to be in the office in the morning. Fortunately we have offices on campus! Then straight after my seminar I have to head into town to meet someone, then I should head back to campus to work on some coursework. Perfect day to test out the usefulness of the Brompton I think!
New stuff!
It's no good. New stuff makes me happy.
Today I am wearing a new pair of cords from Howies. The tomboy cords, in olive. They cost a lot of money, but I'm hoping they will last a correspondingly long time. I have a pair of Gap cords that I have worn for a few years now, but the lack of pockets bugs me. So now I have these instead. I want to treat them like jeans - wear them for everything, non-stop, wash them lots and generally abuse them, and have them last for years. Here's hoping!
And I got my new Brompton.
Bleeding Nora
I discovered tonight something that makes giving blood seem fine and fun. Not being allowed to give blood, after arranging things so that I could get up there, due to a low haemoglobin count.
I even feel pretty good at the moment, so no idea what that's all about. Apparently they may write and tell me. Fab.
(For what it's worth, Nora is a diminutive of Eleanor... So quite appropriate really!)
And for my next trick
I know, I promised photos from the carpet laying when we found the cable again. I did find the cable, and am still processing the photos a little.
However, I have moved on. Apparently my next trick is making curtains! We've been meaning to replace the curtains in the living room for ages. They aren't totally offensive, but pink and purple flowers on a cream background isn't really our taste. We went shopping for fabric after work a couple of weeks ago and spent a while looking through large rolls of fabric that was either a) hideous or b) way out of our price range.
Expensive not impulsive
We had a bit of a party on Saturday. A much-belated house warming. We got the house all tidy for 2, and people started arriving about 3. Interesting that the friends with babies showed up first. Apparently a late night out for them is about... oh... 7. Still. A good number showed up, although I was a smidge upset that a few people who told me they were coming didn't. It didn't stop me enjoying the party though! Neither did the rugby result.
